The
historic character rider on the horse became the national emblem of Belarus
in 1991. After
coming to power of Alexander Lukashenko, this flag was banned, and replaced in
1995 were
returned to the Soviet state symbols of the Republic of Belarus.
Image with a rider on a horse "Pagonia" (chase) all sorts of way was erased from the surrounding reality -
they were replaced on the
national currency, passports, universities and even textbooks. For a
demonstration on the streets
of the Belarusian city of images with the "Pagonia" (chase) citizens can be
arrested or fined. This coat of
arms for patriotic Belarusian youth has become a symbol of protest and
historical memory,
which they keep on their skin.
