Mass participation sporting events are a kind of sports in today’s Belarus. Such events are not only timed to major national holidays, but also regularly held during other official events in different state-controlled institutions. Sports parades are to show the country’s achievements and progress. Such activity is rooted in the parade culture of the USSR. Mass participation sporting events are not professional sports, but particular manifestation of the state ideology.
